Sandy Ryan has said she wants to secure a rematch with Jessica McCaskill.
Ryan is the WBO champion at welterweight and McCaskill brought her WBA and WBC titles to Orlando, Florida for Saturday’s clash.
Many thought that Ryan was the better fighter on the night but the scoring resulted in a draw, with a score of 97-93 in favour of the American, 96-94 for the Briton, and a third judge scoring it 95-95.
The 30-year-old British fighter was disappointed with the result after hoping to come away from the fight against her experienced opponent with all three belts.
However both of them retain their status as champions and there appears to be no rematch clause to force a second fight between the pair.
Speaking after the match-up, Ryan said that she was keen to run it back to settle the rivalry.
"[It was] the biggest fight of my life, I nearly changed my life tonight, but hopefully we can get the rematch," she said.
"Everyone wants to see it so we need to settle it."
