Although Shakur Stevenson is fully focused on unifying the super-featherweight division against Oscar Valdez this weekend, the Newark talent is aware of what is going down on America’s east coast.
Katie Taylor faces Amanda Serrano inside New York’s Madison Square Garden, exclusively live on DAZN, and it’s set to be the biggest women’s bout of all time.
At the centre of the promotion for the intriguing female encounter has been Jake Paul. The popular YouTuber has divided the boxing community in recent years but his role as Serrano’s promoter has ensured the fight has received widespread publicity.
Stevenson is impressed with what Paul has brought to his sport in such a brief time.
"I had a conversation with Jake Paul to make sure his Serrano-Taylor event does not clash with ours so everyone could watch Amanada Serrano and my fight too,” said Stevenson when speaking with Vegas Insider.
"The main events should not clash as long as DAZN keep their word. They'll keep their word."
