Shakur Stevenson praises Terence Crawford's power: 'I have seen him knock out heavyweights'DAZN
Shakur Stevenson has seen Terence Crawford's power up close.

Shakur Stevenson has lifted the lid on Terence Crawford’s power as the brilliant welterweight plots his next move. The Nebraska native finished 2021 in style with a stoppage win over Shawn Porter, and there’s talk that he could move up to 154lbs if a dream fight with Errol Spence can’t be secured this year.

With Jermell Charlo and Bryan Castano set to compete for undisputed status at super-welterweight in May, Crawford could be a keen observer. Stevenson, who has his own big fight against Oscar Valdez this month, is a huge admirer of Crawford, and he’s backing his friend to hurt Charlo based on what he’s seen in the gym from the current welterweight champion.

“I feel like Bud is the better overall fighter, we have seen [Charlo] struggle with Tony Harrison,” said Stevenson when speaking to Fight Hub. “I feel like Bud is levels above Tony Harrison, no disrespect to him. Bud will beat him, but he’s just talking. It surprises people how strong Bud actually is.

"I have seen him knock out some heavyweights in the gym. He hurts 178-pounders. I’m not going to say no names, but fighters that are out there now. I have seen him put down and hurt them. I feel like Charlo gets hit with one of them punches, and he’s going to have a changed mind.”
