Shakur Stevenson took to social media to announce that he has rejected an offer to face Devin Haney next.
Stevenson, who has previously held world titles at featherweight and super feather, has moved up to 135lbs and won his first fight at the weight back in April against Shuichiro Yoshino.
This win has now put Stevenson in a strong position to challenge his fellow American, but it looks like negotiations may not be as smooth as many hoped with the 26-year-old rejecting a deal which would see him net just 25% of the total purse.
"Nah I'm not going to take 25%, but you knew that already, be realistic," Stevenson wrote on Twitter.
Haney cemented himself as the world's best lightweight in May after a unanimous decision win over pound-for-pound great Vasiliy Lomachenko.
