William Zepeda put the lightweight division on notice following a dominant performance this past weekend.
The Mexican made easy work of Britain's Maxi Hughes in Las Vegas with a fourth round stoppage and is now destined for bigger fights further down the line.
One name which got mentioned by Zepeda's promoter Oscar De La Hoya as a possible opponent in the aftermath of this victory was current WBC world lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
Following a call out by De La Hoya on X, Stevenson was quick to respond and even named a possible date for a meeting with Zepeda.
"I'm ready in July, let's make it happen, hit my promoter Oscar," Stevenson wrote on his X account.
Stevenson is yet to fight in 2024 after beating Edwin De Los Santos in November to win the vacant WBC lightweight title and become a three-weight world champion.
