Shannon Briggs is sure that he will meet Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in the boxing ring.
Briggs is a former heavyweight boxing champion, and he has been exchanging insults with Jackson on social media.
At 49, he appears keen to meet Jackson, who once held the UFC light heavyweight belt before moving to Bellator, though he is now out of contract with that organization.
Speaking to Ak and Barak on the DAZN Boxing Show, Jackson said he was sure the fight would happen.
“100 percent it’s gonna happen and he said he ain't backing out,” he said.
“I told his manager. They said ain't backing out, they said they wouldn't — he always wanted to try boxing. He said that he's always been the guy, he said he came to the MMA game, right to the top, going on the same thing he said he wanted to do in boxing.
“So you know me — me and him is a perfect match made and I finally got it desperately.”
Briggs explained that he entertains the idea of a Jackson fight because others have said no: "Mike Tyson, [Evander] Holyfield, all of them, [Wladimir] Klitschko - none of them. None of them will fight me."
