Many in boxing are excited at the prospect of Gervonta Davis facing Shakur Stevenson in the near future and that includes Shawn Porter.
The former welterweight world champion is a huge fan of both fighters and he’s gone on record to label the potential meeting as "the best fight in boxing.”
Both unbeaten fighters have received widespread acclaim for the way they’ve dominated their opponents throughout their respective rises.
Davis scored the best win of his career earlier this year when he stopped Ryan Garcia in the seventh round of their eagerly anticipated battle, but a contest against the Newark man would represent a different test altogether.
“When I look at the way both fighters box, I think it’s a match made in heaven,” said Porter when speaking on his Porter Way podcast .
“It’s the best fight in boxing to be made and I think it will happen next year.”
Porter added, “There is a specific recipe required, I believe, to beat Tank, and I honestly believe that Shakur has the gifts, the talent, the athleticism, everything, within that recipe.”
