Former champion Shawn Porter is ready for his next shot at a title.

Shawn Porter believes that he will get a chance to challenge for a title in his next fight.

Speaking to boxingscene.com, Porter said that Al Haymon, Premier Boxing Champions’ head, told him that he will be entitled to fight the winner of Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia.

The welterweight pair are set to fight on Nov. 21, but while the date is confirmed a venue has yet to be decided.

Porter said of his next potential fight: “I think the conversation remains the same.

“The conversation is me fighting the winner of Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia. I don’t think that’s something Al Haymon is looking to change and or looking forward to changing. That’s what I’m being told, that I get the winner.”

Porter has already faced both fighters. He defeated Garcia in September 2018 in New York to win the WBC title. Twelve months later he took on Spence in Los Angeles, and a split points decision favored the challenger as Porter lost his belt.

However, Porter came back from the disappointment by beating Sebastian Formella on Aug. 22 to become the top-ranked WBC challenger.

“I think the only addition to the conversation is the WBC now also has me ranked No. 1, which makes me No. 1 in [two] of the four sanctioning bodies, which isn’t bad. I think that’s amazing. I never saw that coming.”

The 32-year-old is happy to fight either of the boxers that come before him.

“For me, you can’t go wrong either way,” Porter said.

“I can fight either guy, Errol Spence or Danny Garcia, and it’s a big fight. So I am definitely going to be in the front row watching intently.”
