After defeating Franchon Crews-Dezurn in a fight for the undisputed world super-middleweight crown, the new champion Savannah Marshall is ready to go after her executioner, Claressa Shields.

On Saturday night at the Manchester arena, Shields was there to support her former rival and friend, Crews-Dezurn, in what ended up being the Hard Hitting Diva's second professional loss.

Throughout the fight, Shields yelled directions to Crews-Dezurn to beat Marshall, but nothing was enough. In the end, the judges saw Marshall win by majority decision.

However, Shields would be willing not only to avenge her friend's loss, but she also revealed that she would like the challenge of moving up the division for a third undisputed crown after she conquered super welterweights and middleweights.

“I think we know what’s next,” said the promoter Ben Shalom speaking of Shields. “I think it has to be at super middleweight. That’s where Savannah is the best fighter in the world, we believe, and that’s where the rematch has to happen.”

Shields and Marshall maintain a rivalry that was born from amateurs and has been maintained over time in the professional ranks. Its highest point came in October 2022 when they faced each other for the undisputed middleweight championship and Shields beat her by unanimous decision.

Could it be that we will see them in the ring again?
