On the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol, the Australian is looking to ensure her history-making bout is the first of many to come.

Skye Nicolson says it will be "an honour" to make history when she and Raven Chapman become the first women to fight on a Riyadh Season card, live on DAZN this weekend.

The pair will meet for the former's WBC women's featherweight title on a bill headlined by Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's undisputed light-heavyweight championship clash.

For Nicolson, who missed out on a medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games three years ago, it marks a new chapter in a career that has skyrocketed her to the top of the division.

Reflecting on the history-making moment of her encounter with Chapman, the Australian admitted she hopes she can serve as a flagbearer for women across the globe.

"[I'm] honoured," she told DAZN's FACE OFF. "I feel like it’s an honour to be in this position, to have this opportunity, to be one of two getting to do this for the first time for women.

"Not just for women in boxing, not just women in sport but for women in Saudi as well, women all around the world who will be tuning in to see this moment. i feel very grateful."

The 29-year-old will be determined not to let the occasion overwhelm her too, and hopes the bout can open the floodgates for women's boxing in Saudi Arabia.

"I feel like we have a responsibility on our hands to put on a great show, and make sure that we’re the first of many," she added.

"I feel like this is the type of fight that I’ve been asking for, for a long time."
