Skye Nicolson puts undisputed plans on ice for Tiara Brown homecoming bout

Skye Nicolson puts undisputed plans on ice for Tiara Brown homecoming boutMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

Skye Nicolson stresses she still plans to challenge for an undisputed title in 2025, but admits her fight with Tiara Brown is one she could not wait for before then.

The Australian will enjoy a homecoming bout on March 22 at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena against the American, in her first fight since beating Raven Chapman last October.

The WBC featherweight champion has been vocal about her desire to clean up the decision this year, and had been expected to chase other belts in the first quarter.

But instead, she will face Brown, with whom she has traded verbal blows over the past few months, and the star admits that it is a fight she wanted to make happen.

"The cat is out of the bag," she told DAZN's The Ariel x Ade Show. "It's a homecoming as world champion. I'm so excited. These are the types of fights I get excited for.

"I'm really looking forward to it. I feel Tiara has convinced herself of this narrative that I'm spoon-fed, that I'm spoiled, and that everything has been given to me on a silver platter.

"I think my fights kind of speak for themselves, but she's going to find out on March 22nd why I'm world champion, and she's not. The plan was to go undisputed this year.

"It still is, but this is another kind of box to tick. It's definitely belt-collecting season after this one, but for me personally,

"I want this flight. I was happy to wait on the unification fights to have this fight."
