Solomon Dacres responds to Robert Ismay's mind games ahead of English title fight

Solomon Dacres responds to Robert Ismay's mind games ahead of English title fightDAZN

Solomon Dacres is not phased by Robert Ismay's pre-fight antics.

The pair meet on the undercard of Cyrus Pattinson vs. Chris Jenkins on Saturday night live on DAZN (except Australia and New Zealand) for the vacant English heavyweight title and Dacres believes Ismay's verbal battle is good for the build-up.

"It’s my first opponent that can speak English so that’s a start," Dacres jokingly said on The DAZN Boxing Show

"He’s got a bit of verbal this week which is good for the build-up."

Dacres and Ismay are both unbeaten with 5-0 (1 KO) and 11-0 (4 KOs) professional records respectively, therefore a lot is at stake for the two men in terms of progressing their careers within the heavyweight division.

But while a domestic matchup can often bring extra heat, Dacres is confident that his preparations are done in the gym and claims Ismay's attempts to unsettle the West Midlands prospect will work against him.

"I don’t let things like that get to me, I’m not that mentally affected," Dacres claimed.

"My training is done in the gym, talk is cheap.

"I think he’s winding himself up more than anything because I’m quite a relaxed guy and don’t really bite into it."
