Campbell Hatton suffered the first defeat of his career as he was outpointed by James Flint when trying to win Central Area honours.
The son of Ricky Hatton, one of Britain’s best ever fighters, was hoping to win his first professional title but he fell short as he was beaten on points in a quality encounter.
Hatton made a decent start in the bout but as the contest wore on, Flint began to have more success as the Manchester fighter appeared to feel the pace.
Despite the setback, Hatton earned many plaudits in defeat and he’s vowing to push on and become a better boxer after working on his mistakes.
"I think I did enough but no arguments. I just have to learn,” said Hatton when speaking immediately after the fight.
"I would love to do that again. All respect to Jimmy Joe. I hope I showed a few people I am more than a silver spoon. I can dig in."
