The Puerto Rican is in action this weekend.

Subriel Matias is set to make the second defence of his IBF world super lightweight title on Saturday night when he faces Liam Paro live on DAZN

This event will be a huge occasion for Matias who is returning to his home country of Puerto Rico for the first time since becoming a world champion, and an electric atmosphere is expected at the Coliseo Juan Aubin Cruz Abreu in Manati.

Matias is someone who has earned a lot of respect at 140lbs and is being backed by some to become an undisputed champion at the weight, and he could begin this quest if he manages to beat Paro this weekend.

There are also a number of contests for Matias against notable fighters who do not hold a world title including Jack Catterall who beat Josh Taylor in their rematch last month.

Following the win over Taylor, Catterall was quick to voice his desire to face some of the best fighters at 140lbs, and Matias is convinced that he would make Catterall his 'next prey' when asked to rank the 10 best fighters at super lightweight.

"Catterall, let's put him at four so he's not upset," Matias told Matchroom Boxing

"He'll be our next prey, God willing."
