Subriel Matias is hoping to secure a major fight in 2024 and he’s been critical of a fellow world champion at 140lbs.
Matias, the IBF super-lightweight ruler would welcome the opportunity to unify against WBC belt holder, Devin Haney, and he’s accused the Las Vegas based fighter of running when he fights.
Haney faces Ryan Garcia, live on DAZN, and if he wins then a showdown with Matias could be a possibility.
The Puerto Rican recently signed for Matchroom and he’s hoping to grow his profile in 2024, and he’s had plenty to say about Haney.
“All Haney does is run all the time,” said Matias when speaking to Boxing Scene.
“That’s all he ever does, he never comes to fight.
“He’s only a threat at my weight if he doesn’t fight me, but he looks like a man who doesn’t like to fight with all that running away.”
