The world is desperate to see Anthony Joshua take on Tyson Fury. Eddie Hearn, present at Conor Benn's press conference, couldn't avoid more questions on the fight.

It was inevitable that Eddie Hearn’s presence at Conor Benn’s pre-fight press conference would draw an update on the long winding saga featuring Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Despite contracts being signed by both fighters, a date for the eagerly-anticipated battle is still absent.

Hearn, the day one promoter of Joshua, took a brief moment away from this weekend’s action to provide fans with the latest news on what is potentially boxing’s biggest fight.

“At the end of this week, both fighters and their teams will be presented with all the offers and the options,” promised Hearn to Sky Sports. “I saw John Fury’s comments, it’s almost like they don’t want the fight. I’d like them to talk it up rather than talk it down.

“We’re quite aware there’s been a global pandemic. We’re quite aware it’s not easy. We’re out there grafting away everyday trying to get this done so a little bit of support would be nice. There’ll be around three or four offers presented to both camps this weekend and then it’s over to them.”

With Hearn remaining optimistic that a two-fight deal can still be reached for 2021, it appears that huge event pitting the world’s leading heavyweights against each other is still on course at this point. Although a number of heavyweights outside the big two will be keeping a close eye on developments, Hearn insists that this is the only fight to be made.

“There’s no other fight for Tyson Fury. There’s no other fight for Anthony Joshua. This is the fight. Everyone accepts that. A little positivity, a little smile on the face, a little spring in the step. We’re out there hustling. Let’s get it done.”

Benn vs. Vargas airs on DAZN everywhere except the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and China.
