Jaime Munguia will face one of the toughest tests of his career this weekend when he takes on the vastly experienced John Ryder.
The super-middleweight battle will see both men look to prove their world title credentials and Munguia, protecting his unbeaten record, will enter the contest as a significant favourite.
A former world champion down at 154lbs, Munguia holds similar aspirations in his new weight class and victory over Ryder could set up a much bigger fight.
With 168lbs currently featuring fighters such as Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez, Munguia has huge opportunities in front of him and Teddy Atlas is backing him to get the job done.
“The younger man is going to win. Youth will be served in this fight,” said Atlas when speaking on The Fight podcast
“Munguia, when he first hit the scene, he reminded me of a middleweight version of George Foreman. Big strong guy.”
