Teddy Atlas leans towards Deontay Wilder in a potential heavyweight clash against long-time rival Anthony Joshua.
The pair are close to announcing a blockbuster clash for the first quarter of 2024 and with each man possessing numerous weapons that could guide them to success, Atlas is backing his fellow American.
Last weekend, Joshua scored his first stoppage since 2020 when he knocked out Robert Helenius in the seventh round of their clash.
Last year, Wilder only needed a couple of minutes to stop the same opponent and it now looks like the Finn will be the common last opponent of both men as they look to finally settle their feud next year.
“I think [Wilder] has a better chin than Joshua at the end of the day," said Atlas on his podcast.
"He lands the punch first, it’ll be all over. Or he’ll walk into something. Joshua knows how to counter.
“His temperament is to counter, not be aggressive. He might catch Wilder coming in or make him miss and counter him. Or Wilder uses that as long as a phone pole jab and sets up that right hand and catches Joshua.
“It could go either way, but I’ll wind up saying Wilder.”
