Terence Crawford didn't care for Keith Thurman mentioning his name during an Instagram Live chat with PBC on Monday.
In fact, the WBO welterweight champion was irked enough to take to his Twitter account and write a few choice words about "One Time."
"@keithfthurmanjr shut yo ass up you don't know what you want to do because I bet you if contract be sent yo ass will find a way out so stop playing with my name," Crawford posted Monday night, before deleting the tweet.
He then tacked on for good measure:
Crawford's warning came after Thurman sounded open to fight Crawford or unified welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr. when boxing resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.
"Crawford knows that he can get it," Thurman told Ray Flores on PBC's IG account. "I'm a very simple, simple man when it comes to the fight world and doing business. Be real, send the contract, watch me sign it."
He added: "If I'm presented with both at the same time, I'd go Spence over Crawford. Spence has a priority over Crawford. At the end of the day, he has two belts."
Yes, Spence holds the IBF and WBC welterweight titles, and a bout against him would seemingly be easier to pull off, considering both he and Thurman fight under the PBC banner, while Crawford is with Bob Arum's Top Rank. Of course, Crawford and Spence have been targeting each other for a mega bout of their own in the near future.
All being said, the fight that Thurman would like more than anything would be another shot against Manny Pacquiao to avenge his sole pro loss and regain the WBA (Super) welterweight strap. Pacquiao, 41, defeated Thurman, 31, via split decision in July. Thurman believes that the longer the COVID-19 crisis lasts, the better his shot to rematch Pacquiao gets.
"Every day nobody is allowed to do anything," Thurman said, "makes me feel like I'm one day closer to my rematch with Manny Pacquiao."
When boxing resumes, we'll see which one of these fights is closest to fruition.
