Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. 2: Crawford's trainer gives huge update on the rematchDAZN

After Terence Crawford blasted Errol Spence Jr. with three knockdowns toward a ninth-round TKO and undisputed welterweight world championship win July 29, the rematch hung in the balance and could only be triggered by "The Truth" activating the rematch clause.

Well, according to Brian "BoMac" McIntyre, Spence has activated that rematch clause and Crawford and Spence will indeed run it back.

"[Crawford] just texted me yesterday and said that Spence activated his rematch," McIntyre said Thursday to Pro Boxing Fans. "The rematch is confirmed but we don't have any date and stuff like that yet."

McIntyre added that he's "hoping" the Crawford-Spence rematch could take place before the end of the year.

The confirmation takes place after McIntyre sent the Spence camp a severe warning that he could endure a worse beating in a second fight with Crawford.

"I don't know if it's going to be at 154 or 147 [pounds], but I'm sure he's going to push the weight up," McIntyre told Fight Hub TV about the possible rematch.

"But there's gonna be no change in the decision," he promised. "The performance is still going to be the same (from Crawford). It might be even a little bit better so [Spence] might want to watch out before he activates that rematch clause."

Spence was billed as the A-side when the two fought last month.

However, after the one-sided drubbing that Crawford produced, he will enter as the A-Side with another win over Spence possibly being the trigger to have Crawford attempt to become the only boxer ever to be an undisputed world champion in three different divisions, as he's already accomplished the feat at junior welterweight and welterweight.
