James Toney doesn’t give Errol Spence Jr. any chance of beating Terence Crawford if the pair meet in a welterweight clash later this year.
One of the biggest fights in boxing has been locked in negotiations for several months as fans await to see who the best boxer at 147lbs is, but a confirmed date appears to still be some way off.
Both undefeated fighters have not put a foot wrong in their careers, and a contest between the pair has the entire boxing industry split.
James Toney, a former pound-for-pound star and multiple weight world champion, has shut down Spence’s hopes of victory and firmly believes that Crawford will be the man to emerge on top.
“If that fight happens, it’s going to be a wonderful fight,” said Toney when speaking to Fight Hub.
“But you know what? Errol Spence can’t beat Terence Crawford. It ain’t happening. Terence Crawford right now, in my mind, is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
