Antonio Tarver has been impressed with Jaron Ennis, but he still won’t pick the Philadelphia man to beat Terence Crawford if the pair were to ever meet.
Ennis retained his IBF title last weekend with a stoppage over David Avanesyan, and the talk in the immediate aftermath focused on a future showdown against Crawford.
The Nebraska fighter is scheduled to step up in weight on August 3 when he challenges Israil Madrimov for the WBA super-welterweight crown, live on DAZN .
If successful, Crawford will have plenty of options with Ennis and Canelo Alvarez potential opponents, and Tarver, a former light-heavyweight world champion, has had his say on Crawford vs. Ennis.
“I’m a Crawford guy. I’m always going to run with Crawford. I saw him a long time ago, and my mind was made up a long time ago,” said Tarver when speaking to FightHype .
“He’s done nothing but solidify everything that I thought he could be. Until someone beats Crawford, I’m going to roll with him.
“I don’t mind losing when I’m going with my guy. Until he loses, I’m going to roll with him."
