Tim Tszyu names legend he's drawing inspiration from ahead of Sebastian Fundora showdownPBC
The pair face off Saturday.

Tim Tszyu hopes to add the vacant WBC light-middleweight title to his WBO crown when he takes on Sebastian Fundora on Saturday.

Fundora was a late replacement for Tszyu's original opponent, Keith Thurman, with the Floridian cutting a significantly different figure to Thurman.

Fundora stands at over 6-foot-5, nearly a foot taller than Tszyu and Thurman, presenting a new challenge for the champion as he had to alter his training regime to account for the size difference.

However, Tszyu doesn't intend to allow his opponent's imposing presence to stand in the way of his goal of becoming a unified 154lb champion. Instead, the Australian has drawn inspiration from a legend of the boxing world who was often the smaller fighter in his fights.

“It’s quite hard to prepare for a fighter like Fundora," Tszyu said. "But a true champion rises to the occasion. I came here as a throwback fighter and that’s what I want to be. I’m living the way I speak. I’m here to do exactly what I say.

“Of course he’s got height, but we all bleed the same blood. There’s no difference between us. I’m taking inspiration from Mike Tyson and everything he did into this fight."
