Tommy Fury receives challenge from leading world champion

Tommy Fury receives challenge from leading world championWasserman Boxing
Tommy Fury is a fighter in demand.

Tommy Fury has enjoyed a big 2023 with points victories over popular influencers, Jake Paul and KSI, in front of huge audiences.

If Fury decides to leave crossover boxing and make a return to the more traditional form, he can expect a world title shot if Australia’s Jai Opetaia gets his way as he’s ready to face the British star.

Opetaia introduced himself to British boxing fans back in September when he produced a stunning display to destroy Jordan Thompson in a one-sided fight.

Opetaia’s next move is still unconfirmed but he’s open to the idea of taking on Fury.

“You know, boxing is my job. It’s how I put food on the table. So, while Tommy Fury isn’t on my radar, if he wants to fight for a world title, sure, he can come and get it,” said Opetaia when speaking to Fox Sports Australia

“I’ll happily beat the crap out of him and get straight back to chasing those belts. I’ve never watched him live, no, but I’ve seen a few clips on social media, and he’s not s—t.”

“The guy knows what he is doing and comes from a boxing family, but there are levels to this game.”
