The two celebrity professionals have been circling each other for a year without getting in the ring together.

Tommy Fury is still ready to fight Jake Paul despite their planned contest falling through last December.

Fury and Paul had been set to fight it out as headline for Paul’s most recent pay-per-view event, but Fury had to pull out with a broken rib and a bacterial chest infection.

That led to Tyron Woodley stepping in for a rematch against the YouTuber and MVP boxing promoter, and was duly dispatched with a convincing knockout. That has led Paul to look for a bigger name in his next fight, and Fury may have missed his chance.

However, Paul is yet to completely dismiss the idea and has mentioned the light-heavyweight fighter as a potential opponent in future.

Fury will fight Daniel Bocianski as part of his brother Tyson Fury’s WBC title defence against Dillian Whyte this Saturday.

The 22-year-old fighter is regularly quizzed about the prospect of facing off with Paul down the line and understandably, given the potential money on offer by fighting the American, he makes it plain he would still fight.

"I'm only fixed on Saturday night, I don't care what Jake Paul says, right now he can't keep my name out of his mouth," Fury said to Sky Sports.

"First he doesn't want to fight me, then I'm a potential opponent, then he wants to see me get a knockout to get the fight on, I don't know where he's up to in his mind - but in my mind all I'm thinking about is Saturday night.

"In terms of Jake Paul, don't mention my name unless you want to fight, it's as simple as that.

"I'm not hard to find, get in contact, let's set it all up and let's get on with it. I'm not even going to get into that right now, my mindset is on Saturday night.

"I've got a lot more credible opponent that I'm facing Saturday night than I would have in facing Jake Paul."

Fury continued, explaining that while Paul is open to contacting him, he would consider plenty of other fighters.

"I don't really care who it is, I've got a good team around me, that's what a team is for, to pick and guide fights," he stated.

"I'm sure my dad and everybody around me on my team is going to pick the right fights for me.

"I don't have any say in opponents, I just train, turn up on the day, turn up on weight and fight."
