Tony Bellew names the major heavyweight star he thinks he would've beatenDAZN
Bellew has reflected about his heavyweight run.

Tony Bellew has declared that he would've beaten Tyson Fury if the pair would've met in 2018 following Fury’s long absence from the sport.

The Liverpool man spent that year taking on David Haye and Oleksandr Usyk, but he was eager to test himself against Fury.

After defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury was inactive for nearly three years as he blew up in weight making people question whether he’d return at all.

Bellew had grand plans to take advantage of Fury’s inactivity, but a deal couldn't be agreed leaving both men to take different paths.

“If I would have fought Tyson Fury when I was asking to fight him, there's no chance in the world he would have beaten me. He was three years out of the ring,” said Bellew when 'Speaking to BoyleSports - who provide the latest boxing betting.

“I was in the prime of my career, but he wanted a warm up fight. I knew if he had one warm up fight, he would have spanked me.

He said 'Tony, I need a warm up fight, if I don't, you have a good chance of beating me'. I said, 'that's why I'm here'.”
