Tyson Fury: I'll smash Anthony Joshua into piecesDAZN
The WBC has little doubt he will emerge the winner when he meets the world's other heavyweight champion.

Tyson Fury told Eddie Hearn he would smash Anthony Joshua ‘into pieces’ when the heavyweight pair eventually fight.

Fury and Joshua are set to meet this summer as part of a two-fight deal, with an announcement expected imminently to confirm that Saudi Arabia will host the first bout.

Hearn and Fury recently met while the pair of them were in America, and the two are both currently stateside again as Fury is in Dallas to support Billy Joe Saunders, and Hearn also will attend Saunders’ fight with Canelo Alvarez, in a fight shown live on DAZN across the world (except in Mexico).

The Matchroom promoter recently suggested on the DAZN Boxing Show that he would love to announce more details of the Joshua-Fury fight after the Canelo event, and speaking to Fury on his No Passion No Point podcast, the pair confirmed their determination to make the fight.

Hearn said: “I know there’s been a lot of backwards and forwards, but we’re all on the same page, we’re all working as hard as we can and fast as we can to get this made.

“I never speak on his behalf, but we speak on the side of AJ to say, ‘This is the fight, we want, nothing else. And I feel like you’re the same mindset.”

Fury replied: “Yeah, I can’t wait to get the big dosser in the ring and give him a good hiding.

“Prove to the world what a fake he is and that there’s only one dominant heavyweight champion – the ‘Gypsy King’.

“Undefeated, indestructible, unbeatable – never will lose a fight in the history of this sport, ever. I will retire with the crown.”

Hearn then asked if he thought Fury would have much trouble in the ring, saying “You think this is an easy fight for you?”

Fury answered: “100 per cent, I cannot be beat by a fighter. A normal fighting man cannot beat the ‘Gypsy King’. The only person that can beat the ‘Gypsy King’ is me.

“AJ couldn’t lace my boots, definitely not. I know you’re his promoter and you have to say this.

“Your boy, you’ve built him up from scratch, you’ve done an absolutely fantastic job by the way, congratulations to you and your team.

“You took an amateur boxer and made him into a superstar boxer and the finished article.

“It’s just a shame that he has to be in the same era as the ‘Gypsy King’.

“When I say I will smash him to pieces and it won’t be a tough fight, like I said I was gonna knock Wilder out and I did, I’m gonna say it here again – I will cut Anthony Joshua down like a hot knife through cheese.

“That’s how easy it’s gonna be. When he gets cracked with all them muscles right in the jaw, he will go.

“I will tell you even what punch it’s gonna be, I’ll even give my game plan away.

“It’ll be a check left hook straight to the temple. His legs will go and he’ll fall on his face.

“He may get back up and then I’ll knock him out with the overhand right, goodnight.”

Hearn defended his boxer and rejected Fury’s claims, saying: “I think he stops you in nine rounds.”

Fury snorted: “He ain’t got the minerals.”
