The WBC champion revealed he had a conversation with Whyte during the fight.

Tyson Fury has revealed what he claims is a mid-fight conversation with his opponent Dillian Whyte.

Whyte and Fury are old acquaintances, if not friends any longer, and the pair have now settled a three-year phoney war after the interim champion finally got his shot at the title.

The WBC champion delivered a knockout blow in the sixth round in order to successfully defend his title for the second time, after defeating Deontay Wilder back in October 2021.

Speaking after the fight, Fury stated that Whyte had acknowledged that he was suffering when prompted by his rival.

He said: “Then the one thing that amazed me was, I clipped the Body Snatcher with a left hook and I went ‘You’re hurt, Body Snatcher, ain’t you?’ And then he just went, ‘Yeah!’"

However, Fury was still full of praise for his beaten opponent, and even suggested that he would eventually land a world championship of his own despite losing his first attempt.

He explained: "Dillian Whyte is a warrior and I believe he will be world champion but tonight he met a great in the sport, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

"There is no disgrace. He is a tough, game man. He is as strong as a bull and has the heart of a lion.

"But he was not messing with a mediocre heavyweight. He was messing with the best man on the planet."
