WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is set to bring British UFC heavyweight star Tom Aspinall into his training camp ahead of his crossover clash with Francis Ngannou.
To the dismay of many boxing fans, it was announced that Fury will take on the former UFC heavyweight champion in Saudi Arabia on October 28 instead of an undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
With this contest being Ngannou's professional boxing debut, it's no surprise that Fury is a clear favourite, but that has not stopped him from enlisting the services of Aspinall who has featured in a number of fight camps with the current WBC world heavyweight title-holder.
"I actually spoke to Tyson and he needs some help with his training and stuff, so we might have a little link-up and explore that a little bit," Aspinall told Mirror Fighting.
"I've helped him in a couple of camps before, so we'll see what happens. When I spar boxers, I sometimes give them more issues than other boxers would because I do things a little bit different than usual boxers would.
"There is punching involved in our sport, but it's definitely not boxing. It's way different."
