With mediation over Deontay Wilder's lapsed rematch clause for a third fight against Tyson Fury due to wrap up this month, the reigning WBC champion has launched another verbal salvo the way of "The Bronze Bomber" as well as his trainer, former heavyweight competitor Malik Scott.
Fury's proposed unification bout against WBA, WBO and IBF titleholder Anthony Joshua continues to drag towards a hoped final confirmation, and Wilder has never given up hope of legally salvaging the chance to regain the WBC belt promoter Bob Arum has claimed expired in October.
Neither Wilder nor Fury has competed since their second colission back in February of 2020, won handily by the Brit in seven rounds, and Fury had some less-than-flattering words for both Wilder and Scott, who as a fighter lost to Derek Chisora on British soil in 2013.
“Malik Scott’s a b—h, and so is Deontay Wilder," remarked Fury to FightHype.com (transcribed by Boxing Scene).
"And I’ll fight both of them, one after the other, on the same night. And smack ‘em round, like p—ies what they are.
“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. And once I’ve got his heart and his mojo, it’s right here in me pocket. So, if you want them Deontay, come and fight the Gypsy King and come and take what I’ve got belonging to you.”
