Tyson Fury looked comfortable throughout his homecoming fight.

LONDON — Tyson Fury made his return to fight in a British ring and did so in style.

He wasted no time putting mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte on a leash before catching him with an uppercut right at the end of round number six to retain his WBC heavyweight crown in front of a huge crowd at Wembley Stadium.

Whyte was groggy coming back up during the referee's 10-count, and a worrying stumble upon returning to his feet forced the official to call it off.

The challenger was going for wild rights from the second round onwards and as a result, was easy prey for Fury's sharp, balanced and measured approach.

The sixth was actually a relatively quiet round, with Dillian doing a better job of guarding any dangerous shots, but the champ found the key to victory right before the halfway point.

Though Fury has claimed he will retire after this bout, it remains to be seen what is next for him, with potentially huge bouts with the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua on the table.

"I'm one of the greatest heavyweights of all time," said Fury in the ring afterwards. "Dillian Whyte has the heart of a lion and the strength of a bull, but he was in there with a great."
