UFC president Dana White could not believe what transpired when Francis Ngannou took on WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury this past weekend.
Many fans and experts within boxing were giving Ngannou a small chance of getting the victory, and while Fury was declared the winner on a split decision, the Cameroonian emerged with plenty of credit.
White, who has ruled out any chances of Ngannou returning to the UFC after his contract with the organisation expired last year, could not help but give the former heavyweight champion praise for how he fared in Saudi Arabia.
"I didn’t see the fight, but the fact that he went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury is crazy,” White said on the Triggered podcast.
“He just went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury. Conor (McGregor) made it 9 or 10 with Floyd. Anthony Pettis just beat Roy Jones Jr. – I know Roy is friggin’ 60 years old or whatever.
"But I don’t know what the hell is going on. It’s crazy. I didn’t see the fight, but the fact that he went 10 rounds is unbelievable.”
