Conor Benn is the latest fighter to offer his verdict on Tyson Fury’s undisputed title clash with Oleksandr Usyk next year.
The pair will finally clash on February 17 to decide who is the world’s best fighter at heavyweight, and Benn believes that his fellow Brit can get the job done when the bell finally sounds.
Fury heads into the contest on the back of a disastrous performance where he was dropped and pushed hard by Francis Ngannou.
The former UFC star was having his first boxing bout, and some believe Fury has it all to do against Usyk following his display against the Frenchman. Benn is backing Fury to get the job done as long as he’s at his best.
“I back the Brit every day of the week and twice on Sundays,” said Benn when speaking to Through the Ropes.
“Every fighter has a bad day in the office and that might just be that. If his eyes are on the ball for the Usyk fight, I don’t see Usyk getting near him, but if it’s the same Fury that turns up against Ngannou, it won’t end well.”
