A major heavyweight title fight takes place later this year.

Roy Jones Jr knows what it takes to win a world heavyweight title and he’ll be a keen spectator when the undisputed title is on the line on May 18 when Tyson Fury faces Oleksandr Usyk.

21 years ago, Jones created heavyweight history when he defeated John Ruiz for the WBA title and he’s had his say on the upcoming encounter that is one of the biggest fights in boxing history.

Fury and Usyk have been on a collision course for a number of years now ever since Usyk claimed three world title belts against Anthony Joshua.

The Ukrainian will defend those titles against Fury later this year and Jones Jr has delivered his verdict on the imminent showdown.

“I like both guys. It's a tough fight to call,” said Jones Jr when speaking to BoxingScene

“If Tyson Fury comes out and is not hungry like he was against [Francis] Ngannou, then Usyk will definitely beat him. But if he's hungry, a good big man usually beats a good small man.”
