Daniel Cormier is not impressed with Tyson Fury as the WBC champion gets ready to face Francis Ngannou later this month.
Last week, it was confirmed that Fury had finally agreed to challenge Oleksandr Usyk following the Ngannou battle, and this has led Cormier, a former UFC heavyweight champion, to brand Fury as ‘disrespectful.’
Fury negotiating a deal with Usyk has prompted Cormier to hit out at the boxing superstar as he believes his full attention should be on Ngannou.
The French fighter, another UFC heavyweight champion in the past, is a massive underdog heading into this contest, but he has Cormier’s backing as he looks to cause a huge upset.
“It is the most disrespectful thing Tyson Fury could do,” said Cormier on his DC & RC show. “It is so disrespectful. Tyson Fury knows. It’s kind of crazy because I hope Francis knocks his head off.
“I like Tyson Fury. I watched his show on Netflix, and I fell in love with the dude. I like Tyson Fury so much now. I love his personality, I love his family, but it is the most disrespectful thing that you could do.
He scheduled a fight two months later, essentially saying that he’s going to be completely clean when he’s done with Francis Ngannou. So, he’s going to beat Francis and go fight the No. 2 heavyweight in the world right after. It’s crazy.”
