A huge clash at either 135lbs or the division above between Gervonta 'Tank' Davis and Devin Haney will ‘never happen.’
That’s the opinion of Vasiliy Lomachenko, who shared the ring with Haney earlier this month where he lost a controversial decision to the Las Vegas based fighter.
The result has slightly hurt Haney’s standing in the sport with many insisting that he offers the talented Ukrainian an immediate rematch before moving on with his career.
Plenty of options exist for Haney due to how stacked lightweight and 140lbs currently are, but a fight with Davis is one that Lomachenko doesn’t forecast.
“It’ll never happen because now he [Haney] understands his level,” said Lomachenko when asked about Haney vs. Davis by ESNEWS.
“Now I think he’ll go up to 140lbs and fight just regular boxers.”
