What's the ideal strategy in a MF & DAZN: X Series survivor tag match? Todd Grisham explainsDAZN

When it was first announced that NichLMAO, Ryan Johnston, Swarmz and B Dave would be competing in a survivor tag match this Saturday, the first question that came to mind was ‘How is it going to work?’.

But after taking 10 Adderalls and studying the rules, l’ve got it all figured out and looking forward to seeing how it plays out. The first ‘gimmick’ match the X Series staged was the tag team match earlier this year, and I thought it would be a disaster. However, it turned out to be a lot of fun and I am hoping for the same this time around.

When it comes to Saturday's main event, I am hoping to see all four fighters be aggressive inside the ring and with the rules stating that a knockdown results in elimination, it is forcing those involved to engage and not take the easy way out.

This in my opinion is why B Dave is the favourite as he is someone who will go ‘all out’ and if he gets tired, he can simply tag someone in.

When it comes to the ideal strategy, my mind harks back to a WWE Royal Rumble in 2008 when the rather small Hornswoggle got in the ring and slid underneath the ropes resulting in those competing thinking that he had been eliminated, however, he was still alive in the match and jumped back in the end at the very end as he had not been thrown over the top rope.

However, Swarmz isn’t going to hide under the ring (I don’t think). Instead, the best strategy will be to not get tagged in.

How do you do that? No clue….maybe they will need to have bad body odour or bad breath to lessen the chances of getting tagged in, then wait until the fight gets down to just two competitors.

While the above is the ideal strategy, this will not be on the fighters’ minds once inside the ring so they will need to instead go as hard as they can for as long as they can and then tag out. There is no reason to save energy with the huge importance placed on knockdowns.

There is a question as to whether fans can expect to see some of the bigger Misfits stars such as KSI compete in a survivor tag match if all goes well on Saturday night.

Personally, I don’t see it unless the money is sky high. The context surrounding this particular matchup is also different. These four fighters are less experienced and will not be concerned about keeping a perfect record. They will be more focused on getting clicks, views and followers which they consider more valuable. But if they begin to dominate these types of matches, then there is a chance any of these four fighters could take things more seriously.

Regardless of what type of match they are competing in, these four fighters should be all for the survivor tag match because we’re talking and writing about it, not the other fights on the card, therefore this should be one of the reasons to get involved of what is set to be another unmissable night of crossover boxing action on Saturday.
