Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will fight Gennadiy 'GGG' Golovkin on DAZN (see exemptions) on September 17 in a long-anticipated trilogy rematch.
The third match-up between the Mexican undisputed super middleweight champion and the unified middleweight Kazakh will see the pair move weights from the last divisions they competed in.
Golovkin fought Ryota Murata earlier this year to become the IBF and WBA champion at 160lbs, while Canelo fought at the start of May in an attempt to become champion at light heavyweight for the second time in his career, suffering a defeat to Dmitry Bivol.
The two previous fights between the pair were well-matched and spectacular events, with the last coming four years ago when Canelo secured a tight majority decision victory after their draw a year before in 2017.
"I feel very happy and proud to be able to give the best fights and this fight won’t be an exception", said Alvarez.
Golovkin added: "I hope to see you on September 17".
“The Canelo vs. GGG trilogy is the biggest fight in boxing and I am delighted to get this made for September 17,” said Eddie Hearn, chairman of Matchroom Boxing.
“These are two men that bitterly dislike each other and want to end this incredible series with a blistering KO. I truly believe this will be the most thrilling fight between these two great champions and will be fireworks from the first bell to the last man standing.”
