WBA women's featherweight champion Erika Cruz looks to produce a huge upset on Saturday night when she takes on IBF, WBC and WBO title-holder Amanda Serrano in New York.
Holding world titles in numerous weight divisions, Serrano is expected to make easy work of her Mexican opponent and become the first boxer from Puerto Rico to become an undisputed champion.
However, with just one professional loss on her 16-fight record, Cruz will prove a tough test for the 34-year-old and maybe the fact that fans are already looking ahead to a Katie Tayor vs. Serrano rematch could work in Cruz's favour come fight night.
DAZN takes a look at Cruz's career ahead of what will be her biggest night inside the squared circle.
What is Erika Cruz's professional record?
Erika Cruz boasts a 15-1 record in the professional boxing ranks, with three of those wins coming by way of knockout.
Championships
Erika Cruz is currently the WBA women's featherweight champion after beating Jelena Mrdjenovich in April 2021.
Biggest wins
There is no doubt that Erika Cruz winning her first world title was her biggest win.
However, the fight was overshadowed by a number of unintentional headbutts which opend some severe cuts on Jelena Mrdjenovich which forced the contest to be stopped in the seventh. Cruz was then named the WBA women's featherweight champion.
The pair went onto settle the score in a rematch two years later and Cruz made sure that her success was no fluke. The Mexican produced a 10-round shutout which saw her declared the winner on all three judges' scorecards.
