Who will be Ryan Garcia's new trainer after Joe Goossen departure?

Who will be Ryan Garcia's new trainer after Joe Goossen departure?DAZN

The fallout continues from Ryan Garcia's defeat to Gervonta Davis with the departure of his trainer Joe Goossen.

Garcia was stopped by Davis in the seventh round of their fight last month, and following a loss on such a big stage, there was bound to be changes made to Garcia's team.

Now ahead his super lightweight return, Garcia needs to find a new trainer and DAZN Boxing analyst Sergio Mora believes the 24-year-old needs to find someone who he already has chemistry with.

"At this point he needs to go back to someone he’s familiar with, like I said: you need to build trust, you need to build chemistry," Mora stated on JABS

"He already had that with Eddy Reynoso, I would say go back to Reynoso since you already have history there.

"He’s already on the same trajectory career-wise as Oscar De La Hoya.

"Oscar De La Hoya was infamous for changing trainers, he was successful doing it, maybe Ryan Garcia can find some success."

Chris Mannix also echoed a similar feeling to Mora when it came Garcia linking up with Reynoso once more, but explained why it may be easier said than done.

"I like the idea of reunion with Eddy Reynoso, although I do wonder if that’s even realistic at this point," Mannix began.

"Remember it wasn’t the most amicable of break-ups. Not only did he split from Reynoso, there was some bad blood between Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez.

"It seems like that’s settled down somewhat, but there’s multiple relationships that might need repair before Ryan Garcia can go back to that Eddy Reynoso camp."
