William Zepeda challenges another lightweight champion after goading Shakur StevensonGolden Boy Promotions
The Mexican triumphed on Saturday night.

William Zepeda called for a clash with Shakur Stevenson or Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis next.

Zepeda fought Maxi Hughes in an eliminator for the IBF and WBA lightweight belts, with the latter held by Davis.

The other belt will go to the winner of Vasyl Lomachenko vs. George Kambosos Jr., which takes place on May 11 (live on ESPN in the US).

The Mexican needed just four rounds to get rid of his British rival on Saturday night, and quickly moved on to asking for a clash with another fighter - WBC champion Stevenson.

Speaking after his fight he said: “I [am the] next champion in Mexico.”

He continued: “I am ready for Shakur, Gervonta. Whoever is on that list, we’re going after. Now who has to do their homework is Oscar De La Hoya.”

“We believe in William,” De La Hoya added. “He’s ready for anybody. … Shakur, if you’re watching, let’s get it on, let’s go.”
