Leigh Wood is currently the WBA world featherweight champion.

WBA world featherweight champion Leigh Wood has seemingly confirmed that his next fight will be at super featherweight.

Wood was last in action earlier this month when he faced domestic rival Josh Warrington in what was a thrilling battle at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.

For much of the contest, Warrington was in control of the fight and it was looking like the "Leeds Warrior" was cruising to a win on the judges' scorecards.

However, one slip in concentration from Warrington saw Wood capitalise with a right hook which sent his opponent to the canvas in the seventh round. Despite rising to his feet, Warrington's title challenge was brought to an end by the referee who deemed the 32-year-old unable to continue.

Wood made no secret in the build-up to the fight that the curtain was coming down on his time fighting at featherweight and now it looks like a move to 130lbs is next after Wood posted the following on social media.

"Boxrec #1. Thanks for the t-shirt, no better place to get a photo than the world famous city ground. See you at super featherweight," Wood wrote on Instagram.
