The Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation signed a memorandum of understanding with Ready to Fight, the first boxing social platform co-founded by the world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The parties agreed to join efforts in spearheading innovations for the boxing industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The partnership will primarily focus on talent scouting and engaging top boxing professionals in the Federation’s programs and projects. Within it Ready To Fight will serve as a digital platform for recruiting highly experienced coaches, sparring partners, and other training staff. Also the parties will work together for promoting boxing and developing boxing education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation is the governing body for amateur boxing in Saudi Arabia. Established to promote and regulate boxing activities within the Kingdom, the federation oversees the development of amateur boxers at all levels, from grassroots to elite. Committed to upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship and integrity, the Federation organizes amateur boxing competitions, coordinates training programs, and collaborates with international boxing organizations to elevate the sport's profile in Saudi Arabia. With a focus on fostering talent and providing opportunities for aspiring boxers, both amateur and professional, the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation plays a crucial role in shaping the future of boxing in the region.
Ready to Fight is a smartphone app and boxing’s inaugural social media platform co-founded by Oleksandr Usyk, the reigning boxing heavyweight world champion. Its objective is to facilitate communication and collaboration for boxers with sparring partners, coaches and managers. This ecosystem will support a wide array of boxing community members, including fans, sponsors, gyms, equipment makers, psychologists, and nutritionists, by introducing a variety of new features.
Launched on November 14 2023, Ready To Fight has received a positive response from the boxing community. As of today, it has around 120,000 registered users and, among them, over 10,000 verified boxers and managerial staff.
“Saudi Arabia has solidified its position as a key player in the boxing industry, hosting thrilling bouts within the Kingdom. Our current focus is on developing local talent in both men's and women's divisions, our main focus is amateur boxing and soon will start nurturing Saudi professional boxers. Furthermore, we are dedicated to providing them with all the enablers to connect with the global boxing community," affirmed Rasha Alkhamis, Vice President of the Saudi Boxing Federation.
"As a world champion who started his journey from humble beginnings, I am intimately familiar with the challenges that await young athletes along the way. Most of these problems stem from the lack of communication tools. Even the greatest boxing champions could not achieve victory alone; behind them is always a team of coaches and trainers, managers, agents and cheering fans. Digital technologies breaking barriers in borders could allow every fighter to find his own “boxing family” simply, quickly and safely. I am pleased that Saudi Arabia is poised to lead the way in implementing technology within the Kingdom's boxing governing body”, Oleksandr Usyk comments.
Ready To Fight has already proven its usefulness during Usyk’s preparation for the upcoming fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship against Tyson Fury. Since January, more than 40 sparring partners were selected strictly through the app and joined the champion's training camp.
“It has become really simple now, you don’t need to call a lot of people all around the world when looking for sparring partners or other staff, you can do it in just a few clicks. Ready To Fight is our secret weapon in preparation for the fight”, Usyk states.
