Win and he will be in line for a shot at WBA light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol who beat Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez last weekend.
For Ramirez, seeing his fellow countryman lose on the judges' scorecards has had an emotional effect, and now the 30-year-old 175lb contender will be looking to avenge the pound-for-pound great's loss if he gets past Boesel.
"As a fan, it’s sad for me because I was rooting for Canelo to win,” Ramirez told BoxingScene.com.
“But as a fighter, it’s good for me. When I beat Bivol, I will have the belt and all of the attention.
“I will be able to avenge this loss for all of Mexico. I think the fight can happen in September in Vegas.”
