The Ashes 2023: When is the third test? Preview, dates and start timeDAZN

The Ashes returns to Headingley, a ground steeped in Ashes history from Sir Ian Botham's memorable innings in 1981 to the dramatic finale in 2019 where Ben Stokes and Jack Leach somehow managed to strike a partnership to secure a crucial win for England.

Now England will be hoping for something similar when they face Australia in the third Ashes test in Leeds.

Australia are 2-0 up going into the match after what was a chaotic second test at Lord's which had everything from a barrage of bouncers from both teams, a controversial dimissal and a true captain's innings from Stokes.

But for the Aussies, a win at Headingley would not only erase some of the painful losses the team have experienced at that particular ground, but also see them retain the Ashes.

England meanwhile need to win if they want to have any chance of regaining the Ashes come the end of July.
