The latest round takes place in Aberdeen tonight.

Tonight's Premier League Darts event in Aberdeen will be missing one star name from its lineup with 2021 world champion Gerwyn Price forced to miss the event due to an injury.

Price has struggled with a back problem in recent weeks and was unable to compete at last weekend's Austrian Darts Open. The Welshman has undergone treatment since Friday, but he has not recovered in time to return to the oche for Night 14 at P&J Live.

As a result of his absence, Price has been subjected to tournament rules by the PDC which was explained in a statement on their website

"Under tournament rules, Price's planned quarter-final opponent in Aberdeen, Luke Humphries, now receives a Bye into the semi-finals on Thursday, as well as gaining two league points and +1 leg difference.

"Price, meanwhile, receives -6 leg difference on the league table."

For Price, this turn of events rubs salt into the wounds of what has been a poor Premier League campaign. The 39-year-old is 12 points off the playoff spots and with just three rounds remaining, it will take a monumental effort from the "Iceman" to reach the final four of Premier League Darts and compete for the trophy at London's O2 Arena on May 23.
