The race for the 2024 NFL postseason is quickly ramping up as several AFC teams look to secure themselves a coveted playoff berth.
Just seven spots are on offer for teams across the conference, and each will do everything they can to move a step closer to Super Bowl LIX.
Here is the current playoff picture for the AFC.
1. Kansas City Chiefs, 9-0
The defending Super Bowl champions are the only team in the NFL yet to lose a game, therefore it should be no surprise that they are the number one seed.
2. Buffalo Bills, 8-2
The Bills already have one hand on a fifth successive AFC East title at 8-2 after seeing off the Colts 30-20 last time out.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers, 7-2
The Steelers lead the AFC North to the dismay of the Baltimore Ravens, and show no signs of going anywhere else after beating Washington Commanders by a single point in Week 10.
4. Houston Texans, 6-4
The Texans are stumbling at just the wrong time, now on a two game losing streak after defeats to the Lions and Jets. But with the rest of AFC South all also on losing runs, there is no need for the Texans to push the panic button.
5. Baltimore Ravens, 7-3
For the Ravens, having won their last two, their meeting with the current AFC North leaders the Steelers in Week 11 and Week 15 will have a huge say in where the team is seeded come the postseason.
6. Los Angeles Chargers, 6-3
The Chargers are doing everything they can to try and mount a challenge to the Chiefs, but all the team needs to do is keep on winning, and they are doing just that. It is now three on the spin after seeing off the Titans 27-17 in Week 10.
7. Denver Broncos, 5-5
The Broncos are a team which not many expected to be challenging for a playoff berth, but there they are. However now two losses on the bounce have Sean Payton's team looking over their shoulders as they look to make the postseason for the first time since 2015.
In the hunt
- 8. Indianapolis Colts, 4-6 (AFC South)
- 9. Cincinnati Bengals, 4-6 (AFC North)
