The NFL regular season is in its final week. And while 20 teams are still in playoff contention, several clubs are looking forward to the 2024 NFL Draft.
The upcoming draft will feature some incredibly talented players. Some experts suggest that the 2024 class could be the most talented in recent years. The teams drafting in the top ten will want to select potential superstars or game-changing players. Here is DAZN's top-ten mock draft.
2024 Mock Draft
1 - Chicago Bears (via Carolina): Caleb Williams, QB, USC
The Carolina Panthers currently have the worst record in the NFL. However, they traded their 2024 pick to the Chicago Bears last year. Therefore, the Bears would be first up when Roger Goodell starts the clock.
Despite Justin Fields' improvement in recent weeks, he is due for a contract extension. Drafting a rookie quarterback is a cheaper move, and they will have another four years to evaluate and develop a quarterback.
USC's Caleb Williams is arguably the most talented quarterback available. ESPN's Dan Orlovsky has likened Williams to Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray. Williams, an athletic, instinctive quarterback with a competitive fire, should be the first quarterback selected next spring. He could ignite Chicago's rebuild and give GM Ryan Poles his chosen quarterback.
2 - Washington Commanders: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
Washington could seal the second overall pick with a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18. The Commanders have benched young quarterback Sam Howell in recent weeks. His inconsistent and error-prone play has created doubt about his long-term future.
Moreover, the Commanders will likely have a new head coach in charge, and a new coach may want his quarterback. North Carolina's Drake Maye is a fierce competitor with a robust frame and a bullet arm. Maye is as talented as Caleb Williams. His arrival could revitalise the Washington franchise.
3 - New England Patriots: Michael Penix Jr, QB, Washington
While mystery surrounds Bill Belichick's future, no mystery surrounds New England's quarterback situation. Mac Jones is no longer a starting quarterback, while Bailey Zappe has not shown enough to claim the starting spot.
Washington's Michael Penix Jr could be the answer. The 23-year-old is an experienced quarterback with dual-threat ability and big-game experience. Penix Jr could lead Washington to the National Championship next Monday; a win and MVP performance could enhance his draft credentials.
4 - Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, Ohio State University
With Kyler Murray back and playing well, the Cardinals may draft the best non-quarterback available. Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr is the best offensive player in the draft.
The son of a Hall of Famer, Harrison Jr., has elite body control and outstanding catching ability. Harrison Jr is an exceptional talent, a two-time All-American and a Fred Biletnikoff Award winner. He could turbocharge Arizona's passing attack.
5 - New York Giants: Jayden Daniels, QB, Lousiana State University
Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels could be the perfect answer for the New York Giants. Daniels enjoyed an exceptional 2023 season; he threw 40 touchdowns and scored ten rushing touchdowns. Daniels is a legitimate dual-threat quarterback, and his performances earned him AP College Football Player of the Year and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Moreover, the Giants' quarterback situation could be better; Daniel Jones is out long-term with an ACL injury, rookie Tommy DeVito is still raw, and journeyman Tyrod Taylor is not an answer for the future. Daniels could be the answer.
6 - LA Chargers: Jared Verse, DE, Florida State University
With Khalil Mack in the closing chapters of his career and Joey Bosa out with a severe injury, the Chargers' pass rush needs a jolt. FSU's Jared Verse is a speedy, aggressive pass rusher with a non-stop engine.
The Chargers defence has failed to generate a consistent pass rush this season, and Verse's youth should add energy and the raw skills to improve this unit.
7 - Tennessee Titans: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
The Tennessee Titans must draft an explosive offensive player in the upcoming draft. After trading AJ Brown in 2022, Tennessee's passing attack has been mediocre. Washington's Rome Odunze could unlock a new level to Tennessee's passing attack.
Odunze is a big-bodied catcher with excellent catching skills and a knack for finding the end zone. Odunze has scored 13 touchdowns this season and has powered Washington to the National Championship game. Young quarterback Will Levis requires playmakers, and Odunze is a big playmaker capable of memorable plays.
8 - New York Jets: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
The Jets' offensive line has endured much turmoil this season. Injuries and inconsistent performances have blighted the Jets, and with Aaron Rodgers now 40 and coming back from an Achilles injury, the offensive line must improve.
Latham is a sturdy blocker with experience being a professional-like offense. His broad frame and strength make him a challenging proposition for defenders. Adding him should freshen the Jets' offensive line and ensure more consistency.
9 - Atlanta Falcons: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
Quarterback issues have blighted the Atlanta Falcons' 2023 season. Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder have both started, and both sat on the bench as their play has left much to be desired.
Atlanta's offense has several talented players, but sub-par quarterback play has arguably held the Falcons back. Oregon's big-armed, big-time quarterback Bo Nix would provide an X-Factor to Atlanta's offense. He is a solid athlete with absurd throwing power.
10 - Chicago Bears: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State University
Keon Coleman is a twitchy athlete with exceptional hands and body control. He excels in contested catches and can beat defenders at the catch point. With Will Levis known for throwing jump balls and contested balls, Coleman would add another intriguing ingredient to Chicago's offense. And he is a very reliable red zone target.
