The Philadelphia Eagles won decisively, 31-7, over a battered San Francisco 49ers team to win the NFC Championship.
The 49ers were hobbled by injuries during the game, with starting quarterback Brock Purdy hurt on the team's first possession and fourth-stringer Josh Johnson suffering a concussion in the second half. Purdy re-entered the game following Johnson's untimely exit, but the elbow injury he suffered earlier in the day prevented him from passing the ball, meaning the Niners were reliant on a run game while trying to erase a deficit.
It worked out exactly as one would expect against the team with the best record in the NFL, as the Eagles were clinical in adding to the lead and erasing any semblance of hope for the visitors.
Both teams seemed resigned to the outcome for most of the second half, with the 49ers half-heartedly trying to maximize their run game in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
In the end, the Eagles were simply too good for San Francisco to suffer such key injuries against, and Philadelphia eased to victory.
The Eagles have earned a spot in Super Bowl LVII, which can be seen live on DAZN in Canada on Feb. 12.
