Another Baltimore Ravens-Cincinnati Bengals game, some more fireworks. Make that history-making fireworks.
Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow each had four touchdowns Thursday night, marking the first time in NFL history that two quarterbacks each had eight-plus TD passes against each other in head-to-head games in one season as the home team Ravens edged the Bengals, 35-34, to sweep the season series from their AFC North rivals. During their Week 5 matchup last month, Burrow threw five touchdowns and Jackson tossed four TDs.
Their Thursday Night Football matchup at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore had the QBs engaging in a game of 'anything you can do, I can do better.' When Burrow hooked up with Ja'Marr Chase for a 70-yard touchdown pass to tie the game up at 28 apiece with 5:37 left, Jackson responded with a jumpshot TD pass to Rashod Bateman to give the Ravens a 35-28 lead with 1:49 remaining.
Not to be outdone, Burrow once again linked up with Chase for their third TD connection of the game as the Bengals pulled within 35-34 of the Ravens' lead. However, instead of opting for the extra point to knot the game with 38 seconds left, the Bengals controversially went for a two-point conversion which failed when Burrow's pass to Tanner Hudson was incomplete.
That, and a recovered onside kick by the Ravens helped secure their win as they improved to 7-3, while the Bengals fell to 4-6.
Here are all the key updates and highlights from the Ravens' shootout victory over the Bengals.
